A Quiet Dream of Music & Movement

I walked past this lovely photo of John Williams at BOS and it reminded me of life in Europe.

There has always been a quiet longing in me to one day experience his music performed live. To feel each note. Not just heard, but felt.

I come from a family where music and movement were never distant ideas, but a way of life. Instruments filled the background of everyday moments, and ballet carried a kind of grace that words could never quite capture. There is something deeply intimate about watching someone express emotion through sound or movement alone. It sure;y lingers differently.

Perhaps that is why the idea of sitting in a grand hall, listening to a live orchestra or watching an opera unfold, feels so meaningful to me. It is not just about the performance itself, but the atmosphere. The anticipation, the stillness, the shared experience of something beautiful and fleeting…

I’ve had the chance of experiencing performances at the Kölner Philharmonie and boy, there is something being in a space like that. The stillness before it begins, the way the sounds fill the entire room and how every emotion just moves through your body.

One day, I will sit beneath soft lights, surrounded by velvet and silence and let the music carry me somewhere else entirely. And when that moment comes, I know it will feel like something I’ve been waiting for all along.

If an excursion like that piques your interest in any way, I would love to be your companion.

Xoxo
